Born in Osaka in 1964, actor, scriptwriter, film director, and president of 10ANTS, Uenishi has been active mainly on the stage in the Kansai region since the establishment of the theater company, 10ANTS, in 2012. In 2012, he also began producing films, starting with the short omnibus film 10 Ants. His second film, Sisters, won the Grand Prix at the 5th Milan International Filmmaker Film Festival in the Foreign Language Short Film category and was nominated for Best Director. His third film Koisuru won the Runner-up Grand Prix at the 4th Kashikojima Film Festival and the Best Actor Award as an actor. His short film ZIZIY! was screened at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival. His films Nishinari Goro's 400 Million Yen and Osaka Bros (starring with AKAI Hidekazu) were released and screened at film festivals around the world.

1964年 大阪府出身、俳優・脚本家、映画監督、10ANTS(テンアンツ)代表。2012年劇団テンアンツ発足後、関西の舞台を中心に活動を始める。また、他劇団への脚本依頼を受けた事を起点に、現在では劇映画・V シネマ「コンフリクト」「日本極道戦争」シリーズの脚本などを手掛け、脚本家としての活動も並行して行う。2012年、短編集オムニバス映画「10 匹の蟻」を手始めに 映画製作を開始する。映画第 2 作「姉妹」が 第 5 回ミラノ国際フィルムメイカー映画祭・外国語短編部門グランプリ受賞、監督賞ノミネート。第 3 作「恋する」で第 4 回 賢島映画祭・準グランプリ、そして役者として主演男優賞受賞。短編「ZIZIY!」が ゆうばり国際ファンタスティック映画祭にて上映へ進展。監督・主演作で「西成ゴローの四億円」「ねばぎば新世界」（赤井英和氏とW主演）が公開、世界の映画祭で上映される。
