Kayano graduated from the Department of Image Design, Faculty of Arts and Engineering at Kyushu University. His film Journey Beyond the Night (2022) won the Best Picture Award and the Audience Award in the Feature Film category at the 2021 SKIP City International D-Cinema Festival. It will be screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival. Kayano was a screenwriter for the film production project SUPER SAPIENSS, led by directors TSUTSUMI Yukihiko, MOTOHIRO Katsuyuki, and SATO Yuichi.

九州大学芸術工学部画像設計学科卒業。『夜を越える旅』（2022）が2021年のSKIP シティ国際Dシネマ映画祭国内コンペティション長編部門で優秀作品賞と観客賞を受賞、東京国際映画祭にて上映される。堤幸彦監督、本広克行監督、佐藤祐市監督を中心とした映像製作プロジェクト「SUPER SAPIENSS」にて脚本を担当。
