Dir. OKI Moe

(The Manga Master)

Born in 1986 in Kitami City, Hokkaido, Oki transitioned from working as an assistant director for TV programs to working as assistant director on Rhinoceros Horn, directed by Kishu Izuchi, in 2009. In 2012 she directed and produced Hanabi Shisou, a completely self-produced film, which was released in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Nagoya in 2014. In the October 2016 issue of Kinema Junpo, Oki was featured as one of the most promising directors of the future. Her latest film, The Manga Master, starring Ogata Issey, was released on November 30, 2020.
