Director Spotlight #1: “Angry Son”

Born in 1990 in Gunma Prefecture. He studied under film director NEGISHI Yoshitaro and screenwriter Masato Kato while at college.

His work "Our Future," based on his own experience as a transgender man, won the Special Jury Prize at the Pia Film Festival. The film was highly acclaimed not only in Japan but also abroad, including at the Vancouver International Film Festival.

After graduating from college, he has been active as a writer and a director and won the Filmmex New Director Award 2019. "Futari no Sekai," a film about a decade of transgender and cisgender people, will be released nationwide in January 2022.

飯塚花笑監督

（世界は僕らに気づかない)

1990年生まれ。群馬県出身。大学在学中は映画監督の根岸吉太郎、脚本家の加藤正人に学ぶ。トランスジェンダーである自らの経験を元に制作した『僕らの未来』は、ぴあフィルムフェスティバルにて審査員特別賞を受賞。国内のみならずバンクーバー国際映画祭等、国外でも高い評価を得た。大学卒業後は「ひとりキャンプで食って寝る」(TV東京)に脚本で参加。フィルメックス新人監督賞2019を受賞するなど活躍している。2022年1月にはトランスジェンダーとシスジェンダーの10年間を描いた『フタリノセカイ』が全国公開予定。
