The Manga Master
The inconvenience of expression is not new.
Whether because of war, politics, censorship, exile, or disease, expression is always filtered through obstacle and inconvenience.
What I want to convey through this film is that the true driving force of expression lies in the inconvenience of expression itself, and that, even if we don't see it, what is truly important is always right in front of us
This isn’t just a historical film about manga, but a movie that asks a question that is very pressing today: what is truly important?
I would like to thank the Chicago Japan Film Collective for the opportunity to screen this film, and I wish you a successful film festival!
