Synopsis
Nana lost her parents at a young age and took over the inn "Nakajima-so" in a seaside town. One day in early September, while the inn was closed, a young man named Shuntaro arrives, asking to stay. He tells Nana that his late girlfriend had stayed at the inn just before her death. Though confused, Nana agrees. Shuntaro spends his days wandering the town and coast, retracing his girlfriend’s steps, and eventually, Nana begins to accompany him, as if searching for something of her own.

Director's Comment
The film Leave in Summer isn’t about people falling in love, nor is it about someone getting murdered, or even a big plot twist. It’s a story where the protagonist and a man who has lost his loved one share a brief moment together, reflecting on what it means to care for and engage with others. As we live, most of us inevitably interact with others and, in different ways, think about someone. I hope that when you watch this film, you can feel the bittersweetness and tenderness of those moments.
